Awareness Campaign on NATO Programs for Promoting Innovation in Security and Defense

The Security and Defense Innovation Center has undertaken an initiative to increase awareness of NATO programs that support research and development in the field of security and defense. This project aims to actively engage higher education institutions, scientific researchers, and young innovators by providing detailed information on funding opportunities and international cooperation.

At the core of this initiative are two main pillars of the Alliance:

• Science for Peace and Security (SPS): A mechanism that enables international cooperation through scientific research projects, with a focus on addressing contemporary security challenges.

• DIANA (Defense Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic): An acceleration platform aimed at developing dual-use technologies (civilian and military), creating a bridge between academia, industry, and the defense sector.

The series of meetings began at the premises of Tirana Business University, where students and academic staff members from the Faculty of Information Technology participated in an interactive dialogue. During this activity, the importance of academic contribution to the innovation ecosystem and the critical role of technology in the architecture of modern security were emphasized.
